Four Americans, who were retired and sailing around the world were killed by Somali Pirates Tuesday. The Four Americans were taken hostage by Somali pirates of East Africa, were shot and killed. This is the first time Americans had been killed by the pirate attacks in the Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean. Two days before this attack, a New York court had sentenced a pirate to 33 years in prison for the 2009 hijacking of the Maersk Alabama, a U.S. cargo vessel. A pirate in Somalia told the AP last week that because of that verdict the pirates were more likely to attack Americans. The pirates currently hold 30 ships and more than 660 hostages. They typically get a multi-million dollar ransom for releasing their captives.
I think that the Somalian's are really getting there self into very big trouble by killing Americans. When they kill Americans they have to know that then they get the military involved which is not going to look to good for the Somalians. I also hope that they do get taken down because they have been doing this for many years and it is getting out of hand.
