‘I'm in this battle for Canadians,' Ignatieff says

Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff thinks that conservatives won't survive in power unless Canadians give him a majority government. He was retaliating to Harper's comment in Winnipeg saying that he needs a majority government which basically meant give us majority or bust. Harper said that if you don't give the Conservatives a majority Canada's economy is going to fall apart. Ignatieff called Harper ignorant after those comments. Ignatieff said Conservative government has failed to respond to the needs of average families. Ignatieff Swears that he is in this battle for the Canadians. Ignatieff also says that Canadians want equality whether you are an aboriginal, immigrant, and etc. Everyone wants to be equal.

I think that what Michael Ignatieff wants to do is the right thing to do such as make people equal, help average families and also to try helping the economy. All it comes down to now is whether or not Ignatieff is going to be true to his words, because if he is not he will not stay for long.

Cars can be hacked and remotely controlled, researchers find

With a lot of expertise computer hackers could gain remote access to someone's car. Just like they do to peoples computers. They can take over the basic functions including the control of its engine. Although no take overs have happened yet scientists conducted an experiment on a car they bought to hack. Their report said that it could happen. Because many of todays vehicles have wireless Bluetooth technology it is possible for a hacker to gain control of a vehicle. It can be hacked by making the car lock and brake and they could eavesdrop on its cabin and also steal vehicle data. They are now trying to found out how hard it is to do for a normal person. A lot of car safety issues are arousing lately and concerns of the internet comes in contact with almost every aspect in of daily life.

I think that this is really serious because stuff like this can get out and maybe people will start to actually hack the cars and this could cause many problems and crashes. This could also be a threat for things like kidnapping someone could hack another persons car and stop them and make them go another way and kidnap them. This could turn into a really big problem if it is possible to do for a normal man since these tests were done by very experienced scientists.

Complaints soar about distracted TTC drivers

Many people are complaining of distracted TTC drivers. TTC drivers are being caught texting, talking, or even doing sudoku puzzles behind the wheel. The number of complaints this January have doubled since last January. In January 2010 there were 48 complains of distracted drivers this January 2011 there were 81 complaints of distracted drivers. TTC officials have told driver that they could be fired for using cellphones for any reason while they are on duty. All drivers that have had complaints are investigated and the decision is made on a case-by-case basis. Then they make a decision and if the driver is guilty he is relieved of his job without pay pending the outcome.

I think that this is really bad because people taking the bus have to feel safe while they are in the bus. They will not feel safe if the bus driver is distracted while he is driving. They have to fix this because people will not take the bus if they see this because they will not feel safe. I know that this makes me uncomfortable to take the TTC after hearing all these complaints from people. They should really take this more seriously or there business will go down.

In-car GPS leaves driver stranded in snow for three days

A in car GPS led a Quebec medical student to a wrong destination that could have led to her dying. Stephanie who is 22 left home to go to a medical residency when her GPS led her the wrong way and she got stuck in the snow. She said that she would have tried to stay there till spring. The GPS led her to a place with no cell phone reception so she could not call for help. Lucky for her, her mom had packed a cooler full of food and soft drinks and a blanket and pillow. She had stayed in her car for 3 days. Stephanie was rescued when three snowmobiler's came across her. When they came to rescue her she was crying. She is lucky that she was found that day as if she would have stayed another night she might have not made it because the weather was going to drop to -30C that night. She had an emotional reunion with her dad when she came back.

I think that this is a really dangerous situation that a GPS can lead someone to a place with no cell phone reception and basically a deserted place. I don't know if this was Stephanie's fault for putting in the wrong destination which it could have been but she had put in the right destination then GPS companies have to investigate what went wrong with their GPS to lead her to the wrong destination.

Stabbed cabbie loses his income because of city rules

Taxi Driver Khalil Talke a taxi driver had been stabbed earlier trying to fight off a robber. He says he has been victimized twice. One from the stabbing and now the city is not letting him to rent out his cab while he is in the hospital. He has been forced to return his cab license to the city because he can't work. He said he is making nothing zero dollars he had returned his license to the city after the attack. He said, "People shouldn't lose an income because they were attacked on the job." The law is that if someone is to sick or injured to work they have to return their ambassador license. Usually if a driver is sick another driver can drive their car and they can still get some money from the other person driving the cab, but he is not allowed to do that.

I think that this is a situation that has to be changed soon. A person can not get injured from work than not be able to get paid either. They should either let him rent out his cab and still make some income or the government should somehow give him in an income while he is injured. I think that this law has to change as people can not live without an income and especially because they got hurt on the job.
